The Pilgrim Francis Cooke Society is a nonprofit educational and associational organization. The Society's management and activities shall be consistent with Section 501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code. The Society is managed by a Board of Directors. The Society is a member of the Mayflower Families Society. Membership is restricted to descendants of the Mayflower passenger Francis Cooke. Any person eighteen (18) years of age or over is eligible to apply for membership in the Society.
The aim and purpose of the Pilgrim Francis Cooke Society shall be the preservation of the spirit and tradition of those early pilgrims from beyond the sea, whose sturdy strength and fearless integrity lie at the basis of our nation's greatness; the especial honoring of Francis Cooke from whom we directly trace descent; the publication of a Francis Cooke genealogy and such other histories and books as shall make suitable records for public archives; the establishment of some fitting memorials of the Mayflower Passenger Francis Cooke; and lastly the fostering among the descendants of this revered ancestor of a spirit of helpfulness and comradeship and an honorable pride in the source of their common generation, and to this purpose, the creation of closer personal and social relations of the membership of the Society. The Society shall take no actions nor participate in activities that discriminate on the basis of race, age, ethnic origin, nationality, sex, religious belief, or sexual preference.
